Nutrition Programs

The Nutrition Program is designed to provide resources and education for low-income families lacking the knowledge and tools required to make appropriate nutrition choices. Through the Nutrition Program MCCAA, is providing services to help improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and households. Clients requesting Food Pantries and Nutrition Education services must meet CSBG income eligibility guidelines. Clients requesting Commodity Food Program services must meet USDA income eligibility guidelines.

Commodity Food Program provides non-perishable food items to eligible households through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Emergency Food Assistance Program. Households must meet USDA income guidelines. For Commodity Distribution sites, click here

Food Pantries provide emergency food boxes to households that have limited or no access to food.

Nutrition Education provides clients with information needed to help make healthier and cost effective choices with their food monies. Meal planning guidance and nutritious recipes are also provided in conjunction with other Nutrition services.
